A quick question, I actially don't own a 360 drum kit but thinking of buying one... You explaned that in order to use the 360 drum kit with your PC you have to have a wireless receiver. Isn't there a possobility to directly connect the drum kit to your PC with an USB cable. This works with the rock band drum set I've heard...

Thanks!

Does a Rock Band drum set work for GH: WT? I saw that Rock Band drums have the yellow and orange almost circular form and Guitar hero drums have yellow and orange are not (they are almost semicircular).

That was an awesome tutorial. Just one simple question:

How do you choose / associate the pads you're hitting? For example, I want the orange one to give me the hi-hat instead of a cowbell, or the kick pedal to give me a snare instead of kick? Thanks.

I had a similar problem as you guys but found an easier solution.

I have the ion ied05 usb drums which shares similar traits with rock band drums. The main differences are that the ion drum pads have velocity & an extra pedal.

windows automatically interprets the ion drums as a 10 button game controller.

I believe that windows also recognises rock band drums as a game controller without installing drivers.

If this is correct you can try using MIJOY PRO 4 by virtuasonic.

It a vst only program which converts a joystick input into a midi signal. It has no velocity but i believe rb drums have no velocity anyway.
problem solved.

If you don't use a sequencer consider E TRIGGER

E TRIGGER is another program which can be used to
convert rb drums or any joystick input for midi uses with little effort & can be used as a standalone program using your onboard sounds.

check the e trigger forum for my ion drums guide I believe they will work with minor adaptation as rb drums are very similar to ion..

Good luck.

No one responded to my last post, but this is the only place to post on this subject. Hopefully, I can revive this thread. I'd love to be in contact with Magnus, the software developer. The download website doesn't appear to have any contact info. In addition to my questions about hihat functions on the GHWT kit, I also am wondering about the buttons and D-pad on the kit. Is it possible to add code to the software that would allow you to generate MIDI messages with the buttons and D-pad? Ableton Live has good programmable MIDI functions.

Secondly, one of my machines ran the software like a dream. The other (my laptop) says it "failed to initialize the application". Why? Does it have something to do with .NET Framework? There is a tiny note about that at the top of the download page.

I hope someone out there is still interested in this software, because I just got a pretty awesome electronic drumkit for $35 ($25 for drumkit and $10 for the wireless receiver)! All thanks to this tiny, but powerful app. Thanks, Magnus! You totally rock!

I have ordered the supplies to do the install. I'm just awaiting (eagerly) the arrival of the PC receiver from eBay.

I have a couple questions, though, and can't find the answers in any web docs or posts.

Is the second jack (above the kick drum input) for a hihat pedal? Will any pedal (sustain, etc) work as a hihat pedal? If not, what's the best work around to add hihat pedal functionality to this setup?

Thanks.

Hi - Thank you for a great tutorial.
I have problems with the latency - not much, but enough to spoil the pleasure of playing the drums. I´ve tried to reduce the buffer size, but it doesn´help - What should i do?
Second problem: The velocity is the same no matter how hard i hit the drums - any suggstions?
